The swoon-worthy photos you see in the bookstagram community are always stunning. What many don't know is that book lovers actually spend a lot of time conceptualizing and shooting these images!

You don't simply grab a book and take a picture. You also grab some props and arrange everything in an aesthetically pleasing formation.

If you're wondering what the best props for bookstagram are, you've come to the right place! We got 11 creative book nerds to share their favorite props. Take down notes and create your own stunning book photos later!

"My favorite prop beside a book is something in or from nature! I love photographing outside and using flowers or leaves. Another one of my favorites would be antlers!" - @bookish_babydoll

The best prop would be a mug. It represents how relaxing reading is for me! I love to get home at the end of the day, grab a book and just sit down to drink tea or coffee. - @agustinareads

"For me, the best props to use for bookstagram photos are bookish candles because they're so versatile - they can be used lit or unlit and in all sorts of positions surrounding the book. Glittery photos always look particularly striking!" - @vfamilybooks

"The best props are socks and flowers! I feel like sometimes they can really add color to the shot and make everything look so cozy and cute. Also, socks always make me think about autumn and sitting by the fire reading!" - @bookisherror

In my opinion, candles are the best props. They can make your picture go from normal to cozy in an instant! - @bookteacandle

"A picturesque background of nature should be the best! I think reading books in the ambiance of the natural world brings out the life and magic of the stories written in the pages of the book." - @thea_bookgrisha

"In my opinion, the best prop that should be used in bookstagram photos are plants - flowers, leaves, etc. Their colors bring photos to life. You can go out to the park and prop a book onto a tree and bingo - a picture worth a thousand words." - @b2.the_librarian

"I think the best prop for a bookstagram photo would depend on whatever vibe you're feeling that day! Whether it be something from nature, food, or music items - as long as it agrees with what your soul longs for." - @mels_reads_

"It actually depends on the theme you're having. For me, the best props are little plants. I love putting them together with other book-related things like bookmarks!" - @fattymabooks

"I actually don't use props very often. As long as you have quality pictures, you don't necessarily need them!" - @hidingbehindthepages

"Aside from books, I would say that little knick knacks like figurines and bookmarks are some of the best props to use in a boookstagram photo!" - @book_leafs
